Holy Grail Product: Carmex.

I know that EVERYONE has owned a bottle of Carmex at some point or other, so I'm not gunna harp on about the scent or the texture of this but I just want to say how much of a life saver this has been.

Since upping my Roaccutane dose my lips have gotten more and more sore and chapped. Some days I wake up with dried blood on them - not attractive. I'd been using a trusty Vaseline but even that was not helping the situation. So after a little Googling I discovered that Carmex is in fact cruelty free, I thought it was worth giving a go, as I have tried the little pots in the past. I'm so glad I picked this up.

I bought this tube last Tuesday and I've nearly ran out. My lips are that dry that I've had to apply every 15 mins or so when I'm outside and every hour or so when I'm at home. But this has improved my lips unbelievably - although they are still very red and look chapped, they are so much more comfortable and aren't causing me much pain.

I've also discovered if you have a little excess on your finger, it makes a lovely hand cream.

I've just picked up another bottle from Superdrug, cos it's on offer for £1.95 at the moment. I grabbed the strawberry one cos I've not tried that before, so I'm excited to give it a go when this one runs out. Carmex has become one of my Holy Grail products in less than a week, I have no idea why I haven't been using it all along!

  1. Carmex really is one of the best lip balms, I have really dry lips and it sorts them out quite nicely. I don't even buy Vaseline anymore as it just dries my lips out even more. Glad you've found something to help your lips out :) xx

  3. Ive never actually tried carmex! I always go for Blistex Relief Cream when my lips are really dry! I swear by it its amazing!
Tbh Vaseline is kind of useless, It just sits on your lips and doesn't absorb into them which is what a lipbalm is supposed to do!
