Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation.

Bourjois 123 Perfect Foundation - Shade 51

I'd been eyeing up the 123 Perfect foundation since it arrived in Boots, but to be honest I didn't need a new foundation. Curiosity got the better of me so I tweeted (@katieatki) asking if anyone had tried it. I very luckily got a reply from another blogger saying she'd tried it but picked up the wrong shade, which happened to be mine! I ended up paying just over £4 including P&P so got this baby for next to nothing, how could I turn that down?

The shades are, as far as I know, the same to the Healthy Mix - I wear 51 in that too and this colour is pretty much the same. This is a much different texture to both the Healthy Mix Foundation and Serum, this feels thicker but not too thick. The foundation gives me medium-full coverage rather than a light cover from the Healthy Mix, so this for me is more of a 'night-out' foundation rather than day-to-day wear. However I did try it out for the full day on Saturday and I must say it has some staying power. It stayed put all day and still looked pretty fresh when I was removing my make-up on the evening. Bear in mind when I'm saying this, I do have very dry skin so I can't tell you the staying power on oily skin.

The foundation has three under-tone colours; Yellow, Purple and Green. The yellow is anti-dark circle, this I have seen working it's magic, if I'm careful enough not to get this in my eye I can manage without concealer. The purple tone is anti-dull complexion, I don't think I have a particularly dull complexion but this foundation does perk me up a little. Lastly, the green under tone is anti redness, this has certainly worked for me, the foundation gives a very good even tone on my skin, even where I am slightly redder.

Overall, I'm really impressed with this foundation. It gives me flawless coverage and a matte finish, so I don't feel the need to wear a pressed powder to mattify. It had a huge thumbs up from me.

Have you tried this foundation?

  1. I've never seen this foundation in store before! I use the Healthy Mix Serum but this sounds like a good alternative if I ever want more coverage - I'm going to have a look for it next time I'm in Boots! Thank you for sharing :D
