New beginnings.

I can't quite believe 2013 is over. This time of year is an opportunity to reflect and think about the last year. Instead of writing a list of resolutions that I won't stick to, I thought I'd right a little about what I've learnt from 2013.

1. I'm much stronger than I think. I've made it halfway through my degree and I feel so much more confident in myself. I'm starting to truly believe in myself - something I should have started doing a long time ago.

2. I've somehow developed a back bone. This is something I thought I would never say, but this year I've learnt to stand up for myself - this should have happened well before 23. In the words of Ms Swift 'People throw rocks at things that shine'.

3. It's okay to not be okay all of the time. I've sort of learnt to let my walls down a little and admit when I'm not feeling 100%. This may not seem like much but for me this a HUGE deal.

4. Thirteen isn't unlucky for everyone. Despite 2013 being a whirlwind, there has always been a silver lining to the things that have gone wrong. It may not have ran quite as smoothly as I'd hoped, but I guess it actually has made me a stronger person.

So here's to 2014, I hope there is plenty of love, laughter and happiness. I can't wait to see what the new year brings.

  1. Lovely post, a not-so-good year doesn't have to be a bad year, I am looking forward to next year but this year has been so good!

  5. Great post :) I definitely find myself reflecting more rather than trying to make resolutions I'm not going to stick too. Sounds like 2013 has been a pretty positive year for you, I hope 2014 is just as good if not better :).
