My to read list..

Something I love doing but rarely actually do is reading. Unless I find a really good book I can struggle to get 'into it' and then end up giving up. This year I'm really going to try. I'd love to do the 52 books in 52 weeks challenge but dyslexia and time kind of stand in the way. So I'm going to set myself a more realistic goal and try and stick to it. Fingers crossed, I'm going to read 12 in 12 months and anything extra is a bonus. That might not seem like a huge goal but it is for me.

Of course, I've been book shopping - I couldn't start this challenge without stocking up on some books to get stuck into. I always find the best place to buy books in charity shops, I always find some hidden gems and at less than half the RRP, how can you argue with that. I actually managed to find One Day by David Nicholls in the YMCA for £1.49 - I've seen the film and enjoyed it but I've heard the book is much better. I also popped into Age Concern in Preston and they have 3 books for £1 - I was too excited. I picked up P.S. I love you by Cecilia Ahearn - I have already read this but not for a very long time. As well as this I grabbed How We Met by Katy Regan and The Beach House by Jane Green.

Away from the charity shops I popped into Poundland and stumbled across Sugar and Spice by Lauren Conrad. I have no idea what kind of writer Lauren is, but she's got amazing style and for that reason I had to have the book.

I think reading is important, not only does it keep my brain active it's good to loose yourself in a book from time to time. I'm so excited to start reading my bargain finds, expect some reviews!

What are you reading? I'd love some recommendations.

Katie xx

  1. Are you a member of goodreads? It's like a social media site for reading. It's really useful for keeping track of what you want to read, what you've read, and the same for your friends :)

  6. Reading more is one of my new years resolutions too! I'm so bad at it, i think even 12 in 12 months would be a challenge for me. I'm reading Wild Swans at the momoent, ad it's so good. I'm curious to know whether Lauren Conrad is a good writer! xx

  9. I love reading however I was very disappointed by One Day when I read it. I am working my way though Harry Potter at the moment, the books are just as amazing as the films. Can't wait to see the reviews.
