VersaSpa Spray Tan.

Sorry about the rubbish quality photos - it was pretty dark!

A few weeks ago I was asked if I'd like to try out the VersaSpa spray tan at a beauty salon, Sunseekers, in Preston. I'm at uni in Preston, so it was really convenient for me to pop along to after my lectures. I was a little apprehensive about the spray tan it's self, as I'd never had a spray tan before and this was done purely by machine - no humans involved. I had a few visions of ending up like a Wotsit or with a version of Ross' tan (you know the episode..) however it was pretty simple to do.

The lady in the salon was really helpful and explained what positions I needed to get into, when the machine instructed me to do so. She also provided me with some cream to protect my palms of my hands and soles of my feet, and around my nail beds to stop them for going orange. I chose the colour 'Golden' which was the lightest of the three options - as I'm VERY pale I was concerned anything darker would make me look ridiculous.

Once I'd protected my hair, I stepped into the booth. There is a green 'start' button to begin the 3-step tanning process. The first spray is something to balance out the PH in your skin - I assume to make sure you go the best possible colour and avoid the dreaded Tango look. After the machine does both your front and back, the dryer comes on an that's the first stage complete. Then you do the same process twice more and with a few extra funky positions for the actual tanning solution, and again you are dried off. Finally the last step is a moisturiser and then one last dry.

The tan is fully developed after twelve hours, although I did read you could shower after four hours. I left my tan to develop over night and the images above are the colour I went. I was a little disappointed I didn't go darker, I wear fake tan quite often so I'm kinda used to being this shade, however I did look really natural and not ridiculous. If I did go for another one of these tans I think I would go a shade darker than the golden, in hope for that post-holiday glow.

If you're wanting to try out a spray tan, but you're a little apprehensive about undressing in front of a stranger, this is definitely for you. No embarrassment and a nice sun kissed look, happy days.

I was kindly given this spray tan free of charge, however all my opinions are my own.

  3. I'm really pale and fake tan has always scared me but seeing someone else that's pale (even if you aren't as ghostly as I am) and a spray tan going well is reassuring. I'll probably give it a go after reading this :)

  6. Sun Labs spray tan solution also includes tanning kits. These kids have an exfoliating body scrub which can be used before the tanning process tanning los angeles so that the body is well rid of the dead skin. Exfoliating is essential before any kind of tanning as the body needs to be clean and devoid of dead skin cells for effective tanning.
