Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry.

Image from here

Last week I was lucky enough to be invited over to the Regis Salon in The Trafford Centre to experience their new Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry. It's a really cool concept that involved you picking a blow dry from a menu and having the hairdresser work their magic, of course using the infamous Redken Products.

When I walked into the salon I was immediatley greeted and seated at the Pillow Proof Blow Dry station. The station has a bright pink chair, lots of pink accessories and even pink nail varnish to paint your nails while you wait. The hair dryer was bright pink too, which I was very excited about. The lovely Lee from Regis discussed what I had in mind for the blow dry, which was nothing. So he came up with putting two of the blow dries into one and creating a new look tailored to me.

I started my treatment by having a lovely hair wash and condition, before taking to my seat for the blow dry to begin. Lee began by using the Redken Pillow Proof Blow Dry Express Primer, which is a primer for hair. It works in a similar way to a primer for foundation and preps your hair for any further products you are going to use, as well as speeding up the time it takes to blow dry your hair. The primer also contains heat protectant, so it really is an all in one product.

For the next step Lee applied the Redken Guts 10 volumising spray onto my towel dried roots. The spray comes out light and suddently turns into a mousse like texture on your hair. I was worried about how the mousse would look once my hair was dried, but I was very pleasently surprised to see it added so much volume without making my locks look greasy.

I then had my hair dried in an upward motion, which Lee explained was to get as much volume to the roots as possible. My hair is so fine and does very little in terms of movement so I was really excited to see some oompf in my hair. I was given a slight wave to the ends of the left side with a hot brush and then the right side was finished off with a fishtail braid.

My entire style was finished off with the Redken Quick Tease Hairspray which kept it firmly in place. I was so happy with my final style and felt like I'd been completely pampered at the salon. I'm pleased to report my blow dry did survive the night and my hair still had tonnes of volume two days later. A big thumbs up from me.

  1. Looks great, I'll have to see whether anything like this is available near me. I love the results of a blow dry but am rubbish at doing it myself, and usually I can't justify the cost of having one done at the hairdresser. If it lasts the night though, I'd consider it!
