The Littlest Things.

Sometimes the simplest things make you the happiest. I've made a real effort to try and 'live in the moment' more and not worry about things that happen in a week, a month or year and take notice of the things happening right now. There are a few things that are making me happy for no apparent reason other than I'm enjoying them, so this is a post dedicated to those.

A bit random but Tesco released a custard cream spread earlier this week. I was pretty devastated to find it was packed full of gluten and I could certainly not have it. So I popped along in search of an alternative...say hello to the orange chocolate spread AKA Terry's Chocolate Orange in a jar. I'm not ashamed to say I've been eating this by the spoonful straight out the jar, with absolutely no regrets.

Roller skating. The hubby was off for half term last week so we took advantage of a few days off together. Jonathan planned a quick trip to our local rollerskating rink (who knew Wigan had one of those?!) and we spent the morning rollerskating under disco lights and to a pretty great mix of disco tunes. I have to say I fell flat on my bum and yes it hurt, but I still loved it. I was completely shown up by some of the kids, who were definite pro's at roller skating, but I spotted the rink does adult lessons - we will certainly signing up to those!

I don't think a great deal needs to be said, but look at that face! I know it's not the clearest photo of my little munchkin's mouth but this little lady isn't the biggest fan of posing. Too much cuteness.

Finally I think it's safe to say that winter is on it's way. I've been obsessed with hot drinks and soup for the last few weeks. This completely unlike me but right now it's all about the comfort of a hot chocolate or a chai tea latte. I'm totally ready for the shorter days, darker nights and wearing layers upon layers. Bring on the cold.

What's been making you smile?

  1. Oh my god. That chocolate orange spread sounds amazing. I'd by some but I think I'd finish the tub in one sitting! Also I really wanna go rollerblading, although I don't know how good I'd be at it, haven't done it since I was really young!

  4. I saw that Orange Choc Spread when I was doing my weekly shop, it sounds amazing but I know I'd too just eat it out the jar with a spoon. xD

Gutted to hear the Custard Cream spread contains gluten though, I was looking forward to the Bourbon Biscuit spread too, but looking at that, that's full of gluten too. They were my favourite biscuits too. *sobs* Haha.
