Topshop Glow Cream Highlighter.

I've never been a huge fan of cream based beauty products but a few weeks back I tested the Topshop Glow Highlighter and I knew I needed to have it. I popped a bit of this on my cheek bones on a whim whilst shopping and kept catching glimpses of it during the day. I then swiftly dragged my friend back to Toppers and took this little baby home.

This is such a gorgeous product with just the right amount of highlight-ness. I love that you only need a tiny amount to blend it. It's such a subtle colour and adds the perfect amount of light to your skin. I've found this is great for applying under my eyebrows and in the corner of my eyes for added brightness too.

If you're looking for a cheaper, long-lasting highlighter and fancy a little change from the regular powder forms, I'd certainly recommend this one.

OOTD: Kids Cat Shirt.

Shirt - H&M
Jeans - Warehouse*

Most the time being a tiny 5"2 drives me mad, but when it comes to buying clothes my size is on my side. H&M have some fab clothes in at the moment, but I spotted some even cuter clothes in the kids section. The children's range actually goes up to age 14, which I would argue size up to a 8-10 adult size. I spotted this cat shirt and knew I had to have it and when I saw the £5.99 price tag I ran to the till. I picked up this shirt and a floral shirt, both from the kids section for £5.99 each. Some of the clothes were a little to childish, but the majority were a smaller, cuter version of the adult range.

So maybe being petite does have some perks - no VAT on clothes!

New Releases: Kiehl's.

Last week I was very kindly invited to Selfridges to see Kiehl's latest skincare release, with the lovely Emma. I'm a big fan of Kiehl's and their launch last year was fab, so I knew we were in for a treat. It was a really intimate event which was fab as we got to ask as many questions as we wanted and really get to know the staff as well as the products.

Kiehl's latest release comes in the form of the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate*. As the name suggests this is a serum, but this a serum with a difference. This can be used along side other serums and under moisturiser providing re-hydration to any skin type. The serum is unique in that is changes from a gel-like substance to a watery liquid once it's massaged in. This means it has a really refreshing feeling on the skin and the watery molecules work their way down into the skin. The serum actually has the highest concentrate of Glycerin that is available without prescription. Glycerin actually attracts moisture into the skin and therefore helps your products work even harder.

I've been using this together with the Kiehl's Midnight Recovery Oil and within the space of a week, I've already noticed my skin looks more refreshed and plump. During the event we had our hydration levels in the skin actually tested, mine were a pathetic 33% when in fact they should be around 50%. Hopefully with using this serum my levels will increase - I can't wait to pop in again and get my hydration levels checked.

We were all kindly given samples to fit our skin type too. I've been giving a few of the samples a go and I'm completely obsessed with the Rare Earth Pore Cleansing Masque which I need to get my hands on ASAP.

You can find the Hydro-Plumping Re-Texturizing Serum Concentrate at Selfridges here.

The £1.49 Eye Palette.

After browsing in Body Care I spotted this little palette from Technic all alone. After finding where it actually belonged and shouting 'IT'S ONLY £1.49' in my friends ear, I swiftly took it to the till to try out. I didn't expect much from this little palette but the colours were to perfect for me to leave in the shop. I've been pleasantly surprised by this bargain find, the colours are the most pigmented I've used, but for under £2 this is certainly a decent palette.

I've been loving the shimmery pale shades to use as a highlight or a base for other eye shadows. The pinky shade is one of my favourites and looks amazing just on it's own or with a little brown in the crease. I'm happy to report back the staying power of these is pretty amazing. I use a primer with every shadow and these have lasted all day on my lids. I love that you don't ever end up with too much on your eyes, I've found these are great for building up to the perfect shade.

They have a lovely buttery texture too. As you can see they do flake a little in the pan but it's nothing a little tapping of your eye shadow brush can't sort. Once on my eyes they don't flake at all and really add a pretty brightness to my eyes.

If you're looking for a cheap nude palette, that's the perfect size to pop in your hand bag I would certainly recommend this one. I'm now dying to try more from Technic.

Toni & Guy Flawless Finish.

Having very fine, dull hair I never leave the house without some form of heat styling. I know it's not good for my hair but I feel much better if I've straightened or waved my hair. When I was recently asked to try the new Toni & Guy Flawless Finish Straighteners* I jumped at the chance. I've had my old straightener for around two years so I was ready for a new pair, so these couldn't have come at a better time.

First thing I noticed about these is the design. I love the sleekness of black and silver, which makes these look super stylish. They heat up to 230 degrees really quickly, they actually have a countdown timer so you know what degrees the plates are at. I tried the highest heat, which straightened my hair in a matter of minutes. I love that they didn't leave a kink in my hair when I began straightening the strand.

These particular straighteners are actually used backstage at LFW, which is super exciting. I can see exactly why they are used too. These are so easy to use and straighten in minutes, my hair remained straight all day and didn't develop any flicks at the ends. I've been obsessed with straight hair since trying these - it's love.

It's time to talk.

I always thought I'd written the hardest post, way back in 2012  about my skin. I was wrong. This is the hardest.

My biggest fear about mental illness was the stigma. The worst thing for me would have been people putting me in a box and labeling me. One of the hardest things in life is talking about something you have no explanation for and speaking out about something no body can physically see. I once read a quote that described Depression, to me this is the closet thing to a definition: "What's depression like? He whispered. It's like drowning. Except you can see everyone around you breathing".

Depression and anxiety are unlike a broken leg or a collapsed lung, they can't been seen yet demand to be heard. Depression does not discriminate, just because there is a smile on the outside doesn't mean everything is okay. It's not something that can be fixed immediately but it requires a huge amount of courage to finally speak out.

It is by no means an easy journey and I still have a long road ahead, but somehow I can see the light at the end of the tunnel.

To the man that made so many of us smile,. In memory of Robin Williams, I hope you have found peace now.

"And when a shooting star streaks through the blackness, turning night into day...make a wish and think of me. Make your life spectacular. I know I did." - Robin Williams in Jack.

Luna Update #1.

I thought I'd slot in a little weekly fix of my baby bunny. Luna has been settling in much more this week, which has resulted in her becoming a little cheekier. Not only has she bitten through her run, she has also so how escape from her cage three times. I have no idea how she is doing it, but we have started calling her Houdini! The run is just about fixed with Duct Tape, but I am ordering a new one next week, in time for her being allowed outside.  She's been sunbathing in the house this week so hopefully the sun will make an appearance next week and she can explore the garden a little!

This week me and Luna have learnt a few things about each other:

Luna LOVES Kale more than life it's self
I do not appreciate my clothes being nibbled
Luna very much likes to play hide and seek
I love bunny cuddles and kisses
Oh and both of us like to lounge on the sofa and The Good Wife

Sorry for the bunny spam at the moment, I won't will stop soon!

Top 5 Nude Lipsticks.

Swatches left to right -
Essence Coral Calling, MAC Patisserie, MAC Creme Cup, Chanel Mademoiselle, Natural Collection Pink Mallow

Currently I'm obsessing over nude lipsticks. I've been experimenting more with eye make up and I feel like a nude lip goes with any look so I thought I would share my go-to nudes of the moment.

I think MAC Patisserie is probably my favourite of this bunch. It's the perfect 'your lips but better' shade and I feel like this colour makes me teeth look whiter. It's such a gorgeous shade I can apply it without a mirror, which is always a huge bonus for on the go. MAC Creme Cup is also high up on my list - this is slightly more coverage than Patisserie, but for that reason I think it's the perfect shade for moving from a day to night look.

Chanel Mademoiselle is the newest to my collection. This is the perfect pink-toned brown nude and looks super sophisticated with simple make up. It's also a really nice formula that doesn't dry out my lips, which is always a plus.

My lower-end picks are two super affordable lipsticks, but with amazing staying power. Natural collection Pink Mallow is a gorgeous candy-pink colour which reminds me a lot of MAC St Germain. This has some crazy staying power for a lipstick that costs less than £2. Lastly Essence Coral Calling is my corally pick. I'm not a huge lover of bright corals as I'm not sure they suit me, but this is the perfect mix of nude and orange tones, I had to include it.

What's your favourite nude?

A trip to North Wales.

Last week me and the hubby spent three days in lovely North Wales. I actually booked the trip way back in February for Jonathan's birthday, as something to look forward too. As we've just moved house, we knew we weren't going to get a 'proper' summer holiday this year, so this short break was perfect. Shamefully, we've only ever been to Wales once before. Despite living so close we've never really thought of exploring the area, so I thought it was the perfect place for us to get to know a little.

We stayed in Holyhead, Anglesey which is a little town on the very edge of Wales. There wasn't a great deal to do in Holyhead but the marina and small beaches were pretty amazing. We spent the first day in Llandudno, which was on the way to Anglesey. We had a really traditional 'beach day' and ate fish and chips and did all the touristy things, like walking along the pier. We also headed to the toboggan ride in the hill, which was so much fun.

The next day was dedicated to exploring Anglesey. We had breakfast in Bangor and then set off to the Menai Bridge and climbed along the rocks by the beach. Menai Bridge is stunning and the little village is so picturesque, perfect place for a bit of peace and quiet. We then headed to the slightly more lively Beaumaris, which is just along the coastal road. Beaumaris has a huge castle to explore, but we and the hubby chose to explore the more gory option on the old Jail (or Gaol as it's known). Beaumaris has some pretty amazing views too and we watched the Yachts whilst sitting by the sea.

Finally our last day was spent by checking out Southstack in Holyhead. It's an RSPB site, which an old lighthouse and is well known for watching puffins, earlier in the year. Jonathan was pretty sad the puffins had left, so we are planning another trip around June next year.

The whole time in North Wales we were in awe at how beautiful the beaches were. To quote my other half "everything looks like a postcard". The sea was so clear and when the sun was beaming down we could have easily been abroad. For a budget holiday and somewhere new to explore, I would certainly recommend visiting - I can't wait to go back.

Summer Skincare.

After experiencing some dryness on my face from this humid weather, I thought it was time I changed up a few of my skincare products. I've double cleansed for a long time now and after running out of my old cleanser I thought I'd try one of the products I got from Holland & Barrett. I've never tried any of the Burt's Bees facial care range, so I was pretty unsure of what to expect. However, I was very pleasantly surprised and now a complete convert to their range. I have the Sensitive Facial Cleanser from Burt's Bees*, which is a really thick cleanser that is so soothing to the skin. This reminds me of a face mask texture and I do leave it on for ten minutes or so when I have time. This is unscented too, which makes it perfect for sensitive skin like mine and has been a dream to use when my skin has been out in the sun all day.

My second new addition is The Body Shop Vitamin E Aqua Boost Sorbet. I've raved about the body sorbets and after trying this out several times during recent visits to TBS, I finally bit the bullet and picked this up. This is the same texture as the body sorbets, which is a gorgeous light feel which melts into the skin. This smells just like the rest of their signature Vitamin E range which is lovely and delicate. This completely sinks into the skin in seconds and gives a lovely cooling effect which is amazing after a long day.

Have you changed up any of your skincare for summer?

INTRODUCING LUNA.

I'd like you all to meet Luna!

As I mentioned last week I picked her up yesterday and she's been settling in nicely. I was mistaken when I said she was a Netherland Dwarf X English, she's actually Netherland Dwarf X Dwarf Lop, so she's pretty laid back and chilled out. As you can see she's been helping me blog this morning and is now sat in front of me chilling out in her run. I'm also really pleased to say, she has used her litter tray over night, so hopefully that will continue. She is still getting used to her new home but is certainly getting more and more comfortable and having a good look around. Expect to see a lot more bunny loving on my blog!

Oh and if you want hourly daily updates, I've made an Instagram just for Luna. Follow her here or for more beauty-related photos, you can follow my personal account here.
