Documenting 2015.

At the beginning of this year I decided I wanted to document all the lovely things I have planned in a scrapbook. Partly influenced by Lily Pebbles I took it upon myself to make a book to hold physical evidence of any exciting events I was involved in during 2015. I'm forever taking photos but they never seem to make it off my phone or Facebook into a real life album, so this year I'm making the effort and trying to resort back to the old ways of documenting your life.

So far I haven't had much to write about, however I will be printing some photos from Portpatrick as soon as I get chance. I've mainly been focusing on making the pages look pretty and playing around with ribbon and stickers. I'm a true child at heart and still find something really therapeutic about doing 'arty' things.

My actual scrapbook was an absolute steal from Paperchase, just after Christmas. I paid a tiny £2.50 for it and it's just the best quality and has the cutest owl print. I picked up most my bits and bobs from Wilkinsons in the Christmas sale and they have THE best selection of stickers in the kids stationary section. I certainly will be popping back to invest in some princess stickers. I've also been playing around with buttons and ribbons from my Kirstie Allsop Button Kit* from Hobbycraft which has so many pretty buttons and fastenings to choose from. I must invest in a glue gun to keep them all in place though. The kit also comes with metal work to create your own jewellery, which I really need to have a good play around with.

I can't wait to continue my scrapbook and look back at the final result at the end of the year. I hope it's something I can keep forever and show my family as I get older.

  1. This is such a great idea & I love how you're decorating the book so that it's as personal as the memories it will store. I'd love to see an update once you've added some of your experiences. This is something I'd like to do at a later date. Tania Xx

  2. This is such a great idea, I'm good at taking photos for my blog when it comes to special occasions I always come away wishing I had captured more of the moments. Perhaps making a scrap book would help me to document the events in my life a bit better :) xx

  5. I used to be so in to scrapbooking about 10 years ago & I am so excited it is making a come back. I keep meaning to get back in to it & loved Lilly Pebbles video on her project life. I think thats a little out of my budget & I would be more inclined to be more creative & resourceful. I love that you found your scrapbook for such a bargain & I am excited to see how you document your year. I would love to see a post about what resources & stationery you use

  10. Ooh I do love a bit of scrapbooking! I end up spending a fortune on little bits to stick in them though - I should not be left alone in hobbycraft! I always worry about facebook suddenly getting shut down because I'd lose so many photos, so I should really print them. Love the buttons :)

Also I really like your blog banner!
