Beautiful Frankfurt.

Germany is easily my favourite place to visit. I adore the culture, architecture and the general lifestyle in Deutschland. Of all the city breaks we've ever made, Frankfurt was certainly the hardest place to find information on. It seems not too many visit as a tourist, in favour of Berlin, the capital. I adore Berlin but there is definitely a special place in my heart for Frankfurt.

We spent the week exploring this wonderful city. Frankfurt is a shoppers heaven, so if you are heading over, I recommend saving some pennies before you get there. We discovered the art, communication and history museums and even took a sneak peak at some original Monet paintings. Frankfurt celebrate the Whit bank holiday in the best way, with a amazing festival. We stumbled upon Waeldchestag festival, known as the forest festival which was filled with food stalls, a fair, beer tents and Apfulwein. We ate like kings and enjoyed the German band and chilled atmosphere. And may have had a Erdbeer Bowle - strawberry wine or two.

On Thursday we headed to Titus Thermen which is three floors of different types of saunas, steam rooms, jacuzzi's and a swimming pool. It was an incredibly relaxing day, spent lounging around with the locals - it turns out Europeans like to sauna naked, which was certainly a new experience! We finished off the afternoon by heading up the Main Tower towering 200m above the city, which was pretty incredible.

We finished the week by exploring Plantengarten which are gorgeous gardens right in the centre of the city. We even stumbled upon a few wedding ceremonies taking place in the Rose Garden. It was absolutely the perfect way to finish a fantastic holiday.

I would without a doubt recommend visiting Frankfurt if you get the chance. There is so much to do and see, we found just jumping on the underground and getting off at random stops was the easiest way to find new things. There are so many brilliant places to explore and street markets around every corner. If you're looking to explore Germany on a budget and fancy a change from Berlin, head to the gorgeous Frankfurt, you won't be disappointed,
