DIY Afternoon Tea.

A few weeks back Udi's Gluten Free* challenged me to hosting an afternoon tea. I am rubbish at cooking and don't spend much time in the kitchen, so this was certainly a plunge in the deep end. Thankfully Udi's provided me with the essentials to get me started.

I managed to bake the perfect cake using the Udi's Sponge Cake mix, which was so easy to do. I was a little worried cos the batter looked super thick (despite tasting good), but it came out perfectly. I have eaten a slice or four, the second it came out of the oven.

I also used the Udi's All-Purpose Flour to make some yummy short bread. I like making shortbread cos it generally takes a few minutes and only involves three ingredients. I'm so lazy when it comes to baking, so biscuits are the perfect option for me.

Udi's kindly provided me with some bread for my afternoon tea too. I always find I prefer to choose my own filling if I'm making sandwiches so I left the bread ready for the hubby to create his own sandwich creation.

Finally I was provided with Lemon Wafer Biscuits...as you can see I haven't featured them in my afternoon tea selection. That may be because, I ate them. Yep I ate the entire packet and I don't feel one little bit guilty. Sorry but they were too good to share.

  2. This sounds like a great challenge. I'm not gluten free myself but a few friends are and I always struggle to bake for them so knowing Udi are out there is useful xx
