Luna's Photoshoot.

Not a very wordy post today, but I couldn't resist sharing some of these photos I took of Luna at the weekend. The weather has been so lovely she got to spend some time outside, in her run. She's gotten so placid over the last year and is quite happy for my to join her in the run and get up close and personal. I know I'm a little biased but she is just the most photogenic bunny ever.

#ThriftyOrganic - DIY Burrito Bowl.

I was recently asked by the Organic Trade Board to take part in their #ThriftyOrganic Challenge to try and prove you can have yummy organic meals on a budget. I was kindly given a voucher to create some meals using my organic purchases, to see how well I could do for the money. I thought it would be nice to share one of my favourite meals with you - a burrito bowl, however this time created using as many organic products as I could. Here's the recipe:

1 Cup boiled Long Grain Brown Rice
1 Organic Free Range Egg
1/2 Organic Pepper

Mixed Beans:
1 Tin of Mixed Beans
1 Tin of Organic Baked Beans
1 Tin of Organic Chopped Tomatos

Salsa:
1 Organic Tomato (chopped)
1/2 Organic Onion (chopped)
Coriander

Guacamole:
1 Organic Avocado
1 Organic Chilli
1 Tsp Garlic Powder
1 Tsp Chill Flakes
1 Tbs Olive Oil

This meal is so yummy and surprisingly filling considering there is no meat. Of course, you can adapt the meal to your taste and add as much or as little protein as you would like. So how did I feel about cooking organic? Pretty great actually. For tinned products we didn't noticed much price difference at all. The organic beans were around the same price as branded beans, on the shelf. I'd be very happy to pick these up as an alternative in the future. Again, the chopped tomatoes were really good value too.

This challenge has certainly opened my eyes to buying Organic produce and I certainly will be considering it more in the future. My favourite organic purchase were organic bananas, I like to know my fruit hasn't been coated in pesticides before it gets to the shelves. I've actually got a separate organic banana bread post on the way, so keep tuned for that.

Thank you to the 'Organic. Naturally Different' campaign for letting me take part.

Do you shop organic?

Puffa A/W15 Collection Launch.

Last week I was invited along to the Puffa A/W15 Launch Event, held in the amazing Hip Hop Chip Shop in Manchester. The event showcased the new line from Puffa and was a great opportunity to eat, drink and network with some lovely bloggers. It was fab to catch up with ladies I've known over the years of blogging and meet some new faces too.

We were kindly allowed to order from the menu and I couldn't resist the chunky chips that had been cooked three times. They were incredible. The other girlies enjoyed the fish, crab and fried halloumi that was on offer - yum.

Myself and Sarah had lots of fun trying on the coats from the collection and playing around with the Instax cameras. The Instax were an amazing idea, everyone really enjoyed taking photos and getting an instant print - I certainly have one on my wish list now! The collection was great too and really made me get the Autumnal vibes. I was dying to snuggle up in their cosy coats and didn't want to take the one I tried on, off. The coats actually contain thick 'Puffatex' filling making they super warm and perfect for winter.

Overall it was a really great night, thank you Katie for the invite. I can't wait to see what Puffa come up with next.

Lush - The Green Bubbleroon.

My obsession with Lush continues, this time with The Green Bubbleroon. It was the first time I'd spotted this in my local store and I was completely drawn to the glitter and green - two of my favourite things. I was super impressed with the last Bubbleroon I tried so I knew I had to give this one a go.

The Bubbleroons work exactly the same as the bubble bars, you take a piece off and crumble it under running water. This is something I love about this product in comparison to the bath bombs, they last so much longer and you get more baths for your money.

The Green, as the name suggests, leaves your bath a pretty grass-green colour with a hint of sparkle. It's thankfully not one of those that stains your bath and washes away with your bath water. The actual bar contains Shea butter and coconut oil to help sooth and moisturise the skin. I love any product that means I can cut a step in my skincare regime. The scent is a gorgeous citrusy smell, with a hit of lime and bergamot freshness. If you love a uplifting scent, this one is certainly for you.

Again, Lush have pulled it out of the bag. I can't get enough of the new Bubbleroons and at £3.75 each I think I can afford to treat myself every now and again.

Home-Made Vegan Nutella.

It's surprising how many things I miss being dairy free. I am a huge chocolate fan and not being able to grab a Dairy Milk bar whenever I want, is pretty rubbish. So obviously I've been taking matters into my own hands and DIYing some chocolaty goodness - home made Nutella, to be exact. I was beyond surprised at how easy this was to make and how it tastes EXACTLY like the pre-made stuff without all the fancy additives. If you like the look of this, it couldn't be anymore straight forward..here's the recipe:

200g Cups Hazelnuts
50g Dark or Plain Chocolate
1 Tbsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 Tsp Salt
1 Tbsp Agave Syrup

The first step is the longest in the process. This is where you need to roast the hazelnuts for around 10 minutes, to help loosen the skins. I roasted mine at around 180 degrees on a baking tray lined with baking paper. The skins come really easily when they're warm, just roll on a tea towel to help peel them off.

The next step is to whiz up the hazelnuts in a food processor for 6/7 minutes or until it forms a spreadable consistency. Whilst you're waiting for this, melt your chocolate over boiling water, so it's ready to add. Once you're happy with your butter pour in the chocolate, vanilla and add the salt. Then mix again until it is blended well.

The final step involves adding the agave syrup. Be really careful when adding as the syrup causes the butter to clump. So the more agave syrup, the thicker 'Nutella' you will get. I quite like the thick, nutty consistency of my spread, but it's just something to note if you want something smoother.

And that's it! Easy, peasy. I store mine in sealed container so it's ready whenever I am.

Vegan Snacks.

Being dairy free the easiest way to have sweet treats is to search for Vegan goodies. The lovely people at Vegan Tuck Box* kindly sent me over one of their gluten free boxes to try, which was literally packed to the brim with yumminess.

The box contained a few savoury items, including roasted soya beans and savoury coconut chips. As well as lots of sweet bits for me to try. The soya beans are delicious and the perfect size to pop in my handbag for on the go snacking.

I do have a huge sweet tooth so I was particularly interested in the chocolate and biscuit offerings. There was so much to choose from but the Nu Moo bars and the amazing Ananda's Round up ( vegan Wagon Wheel) were my absolute faves.

I honestly couldn't get enough of the endless snacks, plus they were the perfect size for me to slip into my hand luggage when I went to Madrid.

Vegan Tuck Box have given me a code to share with my readers offering 20% off your first box. Just use 'blog20' in the checkout! The Mini boxes start from £8.50, which can be bought on a subscription or a single Classic box is £19 without the subscription. Enjoy!

Make Up Masterclass with Nars.

Last week I headed to Nars in Selfridges with the lovely Naffy for a cheeky make up masterclass. It was a really intimate affair, where we were taught the basics of prepping the face for make up as well as a signature Nars look.

The ladies from Nars were super helpful and talked us through the look, using all Nars products. I've never used the Nars Sheer Glow foundation before but after seeing it on the model, it's certainly on my wishlist. The MUAs converted the look from day to night, simply by just changing from a nude to dark lip.

We were told Nars is all about the pop of colour and that happened to be a pop of orange on the eye lids of the model. The whole look centred around a smokey eye with a vibrant touch. I love the orange shade Persia which was used, I even picked one up for myself to try at home - so far so good.

It was a really fab event and I will certainly be signing myself up for future classes. Plus we got a few cute Nars samples to take home and play with, exciting times!

The Perfect Palette Under £3.

Whilst I was aimlessly browsing in Body Care last week I headed to the make up to see what bargains I could pick up. I've bought a few items from Technic in the past, but I have to admit, none are as pretty as this.

This palette is the most beautiful thing under £3 I have ever seen. Firstly, rose gold packaging - tick, stunning pigmented shades - tick and finally multi-use colous - tick. There is something so lovely about baked shadows and this palette is certainly no exception.

The colours are so perfect for moving in to A/W and the ideal transitional shades from day to night. The lighter shades are so good at brightening the eyes, but can also be used as a highlighter too. I think my favourite colour is the pinky toned shade, I just think this is the perfect pink for my skin tone, without being too pink and overpowering.

If you're passing a Body Care anytime soon and have a spare £2.69, I urge you to pick up this palette. I promise you, you will not regret it.

Scrapbooking with Cheerz + GIVEAWAY.

Way back in February I wrote this post about making a scrapbook, documenting my year. To be honest I didn't think I'd be able to keep it up, however I have and just been adding some more lovely photos to my book. I was kindly sent some photos from Cheerz, in a really cute Polaroid style to continue with the overall theme of my book.

The photos are amazing quality and were so easy to upload on the website. I uploaded straight from Facebook which is so much easier than having to download to my computer before being able to select them. The 30 prints came in the cutest Cheerz Box, which is perfect for storing the pictures I'm not ready to use yet.

The lovely people at Cheerz are also giving you the chance to win 30 prints inside a Cheerz Box. In fact I have THREE to giveaway. All you need to do is enter the Rafflecopter Giveaway below.

Autumn Wishing.

Untitled #78

I'm generally not a Topshop-shopper but I do like to browse their website. I've been finding the past few seasons Topshop has been really 'young' focused and I walk in to the store and walk out a few seconds later thinking I'm way too old to be shopping here. Having a look at their new bits and bobs this morning I actually found some gorgeous pieces for A/W and now I'm waiting to magically come into some money to pay for it all.

I'm loving the 'short funnel neck' look, I'm not sure how flattering it will be on me but I think it looks super cute on the right person. The best thing about this time of year is the comfy jumpers and rusty colours that come back into the shops. I love darker colours with a pop of something a little brighter. As I spend most of my life in a very unflattering uniform, it's really nice to dress up on my days off. I will certainly be adding some of these pieces to my wardrobe...after payday, obv.

Organic Beauty Week with Antipodes.

I've raved about my love for Antipodes in the past, but as this is officially Organic Beauty Week, I thought there was no better time to share some more of their goodies with you.

Antipodes is a brand that my skin adores. There is no two ways about it, I can apply their products the night before a big event and can guarantee it will look pretty much flawless the next day. My skin causes me some issue, some days it's really well behaved and others I'll have dry patches and some oily ones 'just to even it out'. This means my skin is pretty sensitive and rarely reacts well to the first time I try a new product. However, Antipodes seems to be the exception to this rule.

I received these products just before I went away last week. At the last minute I shoved them in my hand luggage and off I went. I stupidly didn't take a back up with me and I had no choice but to try out my newbies. I shouldn't have worried as these went down a dream.

The Hosanna H20 Intensive Skin-Plumping Serum* is a gorgeous water-based serum, and literally sinks into my skin. Not only does ti give my skin that 'glow' everyone is searching for, it also gives me that 'I've just had 12 hours sleep' look, despite very rarely getting this. If you're looking for something to cheat you into looking fresh faced all day, this is an absolute winner.

I have a confession - I am the worst at moisturising. On days where I have to rush to get ready, moisturiser is the last thing on my mind. However that may have all changed now. The Rejoice Light Facial Day Cream* is exactly what it says on the tube. It is super light yet so hydrating. This feels more like a primer than a heavy moisturiser, but with all the qualities of a thick cream.

If you're looking for an Organic skincare brand to try out, I would absolutely recommend Antipodes. Can you recommend anymore organic beauty brands for me to try?
