Lush Sale Haul 2015.

I will hold my hands up and say, yes I was one of those crazy people sitting on Lush's website constantly refreshing the sale page. But after several attempts of trying to checkout my items, I eventually gave up. I figured no stores would have any sale items left, but when I popped into the Chester branch on Sunday I was pleasantly surprised. The store still had a tonne of Christmas products in stock, so I literally filled my basket to the brim.

I managed to pick up a good selection of the Christmas range and certainly managed to get more than I would have if I'd sat online for hours on end. The store still had all of the Christmas gift sets in stock as well as the majority of individual items. So what did I pick up?

I managed to grab some mega bargains and got some of my all time favourite Lush items. I picked up two of the Candy Mountain Bubble Bars, Five Gold Rings, the Snow Fairy Bubble Wand and the Magic of Christmas Wand. As well as So White and Shoot for the Stars bath bombs, Snow Angel bath melt, the Snakes and Ladders Fun and a Peeping Santa Bubble Bar. Then finally some shower products. I got the medium Snow Fairy, a small bottle of Rose Jam shower gel and the Snowman Shower Jelly and I think that's it!

The whole basket only came to just under £30 so I was really happy with the things I picked up, especially as I actually got to browse in store for the items and didn't have to wait for delivery. I'm now hoping I can stretch my Lush collection out and it will last me until my birthday in June. However I think I've had two baths everyday for the past week, so maybe not...

Did you manage to pick any Lush sale items up?

The Clarins Spring '16 Collection.

I hope you all had a fabulous Christmas, I took a little unplanned break over the festive period, so I'm ready and raring to go now the celebrations are over. And believe it or not, I'm sharing some of the Clarins Spring '16 collection with you today.

I was very kindly sent over some of the new collection from Clarins*, and I can tell you it does not disappoint. The entire collection is just everything you think of when the season is changing ready for the warmer months. It's super girly, but subtle and chic at the same time. I'm completely in love with the new Ombre Eyeshadows in Silver Pink and Silver Green, not only are they incredible colours but the pigmentation is perfect. These are a powder to cream shadow making them super long lasting and the perfect base colour.

Moving on to lip products, Clarins Instant Light Lip Perfectors are something of a cult product in the blogging world. I have pretty much every colour our there so to receive one of the new shades makes me very happy. This is in the colour Plum Shimmer and paired with the Rouge Eclat Lipstick in Rose Praline is just a match made in heaven.

Finally to finish off the look, is the Multi-Blush in Rose. This another cream to powder formula, which is super easy to blend out into a natural flush on the cheeks. I love the cream texture, these are perfect for travelling and you're safe in knowing it won't crack and spill all over your make up bag.

What spring collections do you have your eye on? The Clarins Instant Glow Spring Collection is available from 10th January.

Limited Edition Cleanse & Polish.

After running out of every cleanser I own, I thought it was time I treated myself to a new one. After trying so many cleansers over the past year, I always end up doing back to Liz Earle C&P. So of course, I popped straight to the Liz Earle counter in John Lewis and spotted this limited edition festive cleanser.

This version of C&P is Pink Pepper & Mint, and has a really gorgeous subtle scent. The packaging is so pretty and perfect for this time of the year and it just looks so sophisticated and chic. The cleanser itself is just as thick and creamy as the original and of course, does just as amazing job.

I love this cleanser, I find it just ideal for dry skin, especially during this time of the year. But I've heard this is just as good for other skin types too. I think this is the ultimate all rounder and the limited edition is just something a little extra special.

If you're looking for any last minute gifts, I would certainly recommend treating someone to this gorgeous cleanser.

The Ultimate Gluten Free Christmas Breakfast.

I was recently asked by Indigo Herbs to create a Christmas recipe using their gluten free products. I was kindly sent some of their organic coconut flour, organic coconut palm sugar and organic virgin coconut oil, as well as some other bits.

I've never baked using coconut sugar or coconut flour before so I was really excited to see how they faired up against regular sugar and other gluten free flour alternatives I've tried. The first thing I noticed is how amazing the flour smelt, the texture is finer than regular flour and slightly grittier but pretty easy to work with.

For my recipe I chose to make some yummy coconut pancakes, using all my coconut products. I had a quick read around some recipes online then did a little tweaking of my own. So here's what you need to do:

You'll need:
4 Eggs
1 Cup coconut flour
3 Tbsp Agave Syrup
1 Cup Rice Milk
1/2 Cup of Coconut Sugar
2 Tsp Vanilla Essence
Coconut Oil for frying

Whisk the eggs until they're nice and fluffy, add in the vanilla, milk and agave syrup and mix. Then add the flour and sugar and mix. You'll get a really thick pancake batter ready to ladle out into the frying pan. Melt the coconut oil in the pan and when ready ladle out the batter. I found the batter needs a little spreading out with a spoon to make the pancake thinner and to make sure it cooks through. I tried to flip them, but it turns out I'm rubbish at flipping, so I ended up with messy pancakes bites!

I topped mine with dark chocolate spread, which was amazing. These taste incredible! So coconutty and mixed with melted chocolate is just perfect. These are the ultimate breakfast treat and something quick and easy to make for Christmas morning!

Let me know if you make these!

Wishing for Winter Sun.

Okay, it's not really the time of year to be needing sunglasses, but I'm hoping for some crisp, blue skies over the next few weeks. There is seriously nothing worse than driving when the sun is really low and you can't see a thing. So in preparation for those frosty mornings, these incredibly gorgeous Ralph Lauren sunglasses* from the Sunglasses Shop will be perfect for wearing all year round.

I chose the polarised lenses which are designed to handle glare from the sun even better than regular sunglasses. That means these are ideal for driving and even safer than wearing regular sunglasses to avoid glare from the sun.

I adore the design and the arms of the glasses are just so chic and stylish. I can't wait to wear these when I head to New York in February. I'm hoping for freezing cold weather with clear skies and some winter sunshine, so these will will look effortlessly cool.

I'm currently trying to find any excuse to wear these pretty specs, fingers crossed for some sunshine soon!

So Many Eye Shadows.

I think I'm the last blogger to try out Make Revolution eye palettes, but I've finally jumped on the band wagon. I've been pretty much obsessed with their lipsticks since they hit our shelves, but not got round to trying out the eye shadows properly. So when I saw Superdrug was running a fab offer, I jumped at the opportunity to try some of the palettes out.

I picked up the New-trals vs Neutrals palette for £6.99, which is an incredible palette full of sixteen incredible shades. I love red-toned shadows as they really compliment my eye colour and add a little bit of interest to a smokey eye, so this palette is my idea of perfection. The shades are a really great size and their is a fab mixture of matte and metallic colours. It's really, really pretty and just perfect for this time of year.

Superdrug's offer was if you speant £8 on Make-up Rev, you got a palette free. So I picked up two lippies for £1 each and chose the Girls on Film palette for nothing! This is another gorgeous palette with some really pretty green and purple shades, as well as neutrals. I can see me getting a huge amount of use out of this one, especially for everyday looks.

I think it's fair to say my eye palette drawer is pretty full at the moment. I can't wait to add these to my collection and have a play around with all these gorgeous shades.

Did you take advantage of the offer?

Graduation.

Last Wednesday I finally got to graduate! It was such a lovely day, the weather managed to stay dry and it wasn't too cold in Preston. I thought I'd share a few photos from the day.

My parents came down especially to celebrate with me and the hubby a manger to take a day off work to be there. It was great to catch up with my friends and find out how their jobs were going and to celebrate all our hard work over the past three years.

Although you can't see it too well, my silver and black lace dress is from Lipsy, which I teamed with some plain black heels from Primark and this gorgeous silver bag from LYDC*.

Congratulations to the Class of 2015!

DIY Vegan Chocolate Stocking Filler.

A few weeks a go a lovely Abel & Cole food box arrived on my doorstep, courtesy of Simply Health and their "Cook Your Way to a Healthy Smile" campaign. The box of goodies contained lots of food to help promote healthy teeth and give you that perfect smile, everyone is looking for.

Of all the items, I was a little stuck as to what to do with the walnuts and brazil nuts I was sent. According to Simply Health, nuts are a fab way to get calcium and phosphorus into your diet which help promote health teeth. I love nuts, but don't pick them up that often, so this was a great chance to find a way to get them back into my diet.

I may not have chosen the most healthy recipe, but I thought home made chocolate nuts with sea salt, would make the ideal Christmas stocking filler. So here is a super easy, straight forward chocolate coated brazil and walnuts, ready for the festive season.

I chose to use raspberry flavoured dark chocolate (my favourite from Lidl) and simply melted it over a bain-marie. Once melted, I drizzled the chocolate over the bowl of nuts and mixed until they were all fully coated. I then spread out over onto a baking tray, which I'd lined with baking parchment. And finally sprinkled over some sea salt to add something a little more. I then popped into the fridge to set.

After a few hours, I took the nuts out of the fridge and broke the chocolate apart. These are the perfect size to pop in some clear bags and finish off with ribbon or something a little more Christmassy and voila - the perfect home made gift.

The Best Thing to Happen to Make Up Application.

For the last few years I've been a Real Techniques Buffing Brush kind girl, when it comes to applying my foundation. However I won an £5 spend on my Superdrug Beauty Card so I thought I'd give the RT Miracle Complexion Sponge a whirl.

I've tried make up sponges in the past and I've just hated them. I'm not sure if I was using them wrong, but I really just couldn't got on board. I will be honest, I got this out of the packet, give it a go and hated it. I was so disappointed cos I'd heard such great things. I then did a little research and watched a few YouTube videos and suddenly something incredible happened.

If you're into make up, you'll have heard all about the Beauty Blender sponge, well this is pretty similar. You dampen to expand the sponge into a really light weight, soft and bouncy on the skin. This just applies your foundation like a dream. I have seriously never seen my make up look so flawless and blended in so well. I use the flat side to apply the foundation and the pointed side is just perfect for getting round the contours of my nose and under my eyes. The sponge design has just been so well thought through, I'm completely in love with it.

My only tiny complaint is, it's so hard to wash. Believe it or not I'd only used this twice before photographing it and I couldn't get the marks off it. I know it doesn't affect the product use, but it looks a bit ugly in photos, so sorry about that!

Have you tried this sponge?

The Press Tent Event.

On Monday night I was invited along to The Press Tent event at Yard & Coop in Manchester's NQ. I'd never actually been to the bar before but it was a really cool place to hold the event. The actual event was showcasing independent brands and designers, including Rock on Ruby and What Emma Did Boutique, both owned by local bloggers. It was a great opportunity to catch up with my local blogging gals and mingle with a few new faces.

I was super excited to get a personalised illustration from Dom + Ink, who has actually published a book, soon to be available on ASOS! It was really cool to see him at work and create a little bit of art to take home with me. We were also given the chance to chose a quote to be written in gorgeous calligraphy, I chose 'And Then I Realised Adventure Is The Best Way To Learn' which will be another addition to my picture wall.

We then spent the rest of the evening munching on popcorn and learning about cocktail making (and of course tasting!). I also managed to squeeze in having my eye make up done by the lovely girls are Cake Cosmetics, which was just the perfect way to end the evening.

I now have a lovely box of goodies to work and eat my way through, which will keep me going throughout the festive season!
